Videotronics has teamed up with The MAC services group to provide wireless internet service, available at Coppabella and Dysart Moranbah Villages and soon to be available at Nebo.
Videotronics has teamed up with The MAC services group to provide wireless internet service, available at Coppabella and Dysart Moranbah Villages and soon to be available at Nebo.
Guests simply purchase an Internet Access Card from reception; open their internet browser which will automatically load ‘Bowen Basin’s Hotspot Home Page’. Guests then enter their access code from their internet card and begin using the service.
Internet Access cards are sold in either:
1. 24 hour - $10
2. 7 day - $35
3. Monthly - $50
The wireless service is available from almost anywhere within our Villages with access via Ethernet from all rooms fitted with ‘cat-5’ wall sockets (new rooms) enabling guests operating non-wireless computers to gain access to the service via an Ethernet cable. Ethernet cables are available for sale in all MAC.
The MAC employees living and working on location are offered a substantial discount on Internet Access Cards offering them an affordable way to keep in touch with friends and family.
VOIP
As Telstra removes their ‘Gold Pay Phone Systems’ from rural and remote locations across Australia, The MAC is trialling new technology to replace this service within its accommodation Villages.
Dysart is currently trialling a VOIP Pay Phone system which operates exactly like a normal pay phone except it runs off a broadband service. The VOIP pay phone is connected to Videotronic’s broadband service enabling the MAC to offer very competitive rates on local, national and international calls for our staff and guests. If successful VOIP pay phones will be installed into all MAC Villages operating Videotronic’s wireless internet service. This will enable The MAC to offer yet another beneficial service for their guests.
